So how do you get a top ranking in the SEs?  That's a VERY complex issue.  Each search engine has its own particular algorithm that determines the order of listings under a given keyword according to certain complex criteria.  And once you think you have the algorithm figured out, the SE changes it on you.  It's more than a full-time job trying to keep up with the changes and "reverse engineering" the ranking criteria.

This doesn't mean that submitting your site to the search engines is hopeless.  But don't expect to be found under the word "business."  Make your keywords highly targeted and niche-specific.
