You can browse the groups and get a sense of newsgroup protocol before you take the plunge. But when you're ready, here's a list of unmoderated newsgroups that accept advertising.  Don't spam the group -- no more than one ad per day. And do not cross-post (post the same message to two or more newsgroups) ... or the cancel-bots will get you.  They'll simply devour your ad, and it won't be displayed in any group. Post responsibly.
